Hi, I’m Katrin Kemmerzehl, a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor registered with the NCPS.

I moved to Newcastle from Germany over 8 years ago, and trained for three years at the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I am passionate about helping people live life more fully. At the heart of my work are meaningful conversations about what matters, and listening closely to people’s stories.

My counselling practice offers a supportive, relaxed space for clients to move beyond survival mode and towards a life that feels more fulfilling.

Our sessions are reflective and conversational, with room for humour and curiosity as we explore things together at a pace that feels right for you.

What I Can Help With

Over the years, I have supported young people and adults with anxiety, low mood and depression, stress and burnout, identity formation, loss and grief, health issues, low confidence and self-esteem, relationship difficulties, finding meaning, and navigating life transitions and changes.

I also support autistic people and people with ADHD and AuDHD. In our sessions, I bring together professional experience and personal understanding, aiming to create a space that values your way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world.

Therapy is flexible and shaped around you. I work in an integrative and relational way, drawing on person-centred, existential, transactional and interpersonal approaches, and focusing on what feels most helpful and meaningful as we work together.

Being a therapist doesn’t mean I have all the answers. I’m human and a work in progress too, and life has a way of surprising us. But, I’ve been
in the ‘client role’ myself as part of my training, which has given me a deeper understanding of how powerful this process can be.

Counselling offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself. It can be moving, thought-provoking, and freeing, no matter what stage of life we find ourselves in.

As your therapist, I’ll meet you where you are and support you on your journey.

If this resonates with you, you’re welcome to get in touch.
