Hi, I’m Katrin Kemmerzehl, a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, registered with the NCPS.

I moved to Newcastle from Germany over 7 years ago, and trained for three years at the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I am passionate about helping people live life more fully. My counselling practice offers a supportive, relaxed space for clients to move beyond survival mode and towards a life that feels more fulfilling.

I enjoy having meaningful conversations about what matters to people and listening to their stories. I bring warmth, reflectiveness, and a touch of humour into my sessions.

What I can help with

Over the years, I’ve supported clients navigating neurodiversity, anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, stress and burnout, trauma and challenging experiences, low confidence and self-esteem, a loud inner critic, questions of identity and meaning, and life transitions and changes.

My work draws on person-centred, existential, transactional and interpersonal therapies, and is shaped around you and what feels most helpful.

Being a therapist doesn’t mean I have all the answers. I’m human and a work in progress too, and life has a way of surprising us.

But, I’ve been in the ‘client role’ myself as part of my training, which has shown me how powerful the process can be.

Counselling offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself. It can be moving, thought-provoking, and freeing, no matter what stage of life we find ourselves in.

As your therapist, I’ll meet you where you are and support you on your journey.

If this resonates with you, I think we’d work well together.

Let’s talk

I’d love to explore working with you.
